Tools set.

Installation/Setup:

Installation file is a free trail of 19.3mb. Software comes as a free trial and once you register with a registration key you get a full access to all locked features. There were no installation issues on my machine running on Windows Vista. Still no problems on Win7. Installation is quite regular, hitting on Next button is the only effort it basically takes. Note that this is standalone software and no web based services are not needed to complete installation or run Email Suite.

Ease of Use:

The interface looks very modern, it has shortcuts bar sorted into Tools, Services, News, Help tabs. There is a “Start” button which resembles Windows Vista round button. The Atomic Studio button helps you to open Recent Newsletters you have sent or open/save them. It aslo has Blog button which triggers Atompark Blog opening. I have also noticed some other News and Services buttons which makes me think that being Atompark customer you can always stay in touch with them). At the main program window you can find a list of shortcuts for the newsletters and mailing lists.

Let's see how easy to send a message with Email Suite from Atompark. I presume that you already have HTML based message and mailing list. Once you click on Newsletter shortcut Mail Sender opens. Then you should click on Send, load your mailing list and you are good to go. Send monitor show how many emails were sent and how many failed. Once all emails are sent you can send a report of sent not-sent email for future reference.

As far as it concerns other tools I'd suggest you to try it your self with a free trial
since Email Suite comes with 10 different modules.

Bugs/Problems detected:

No bugs were detected. The program was running for quite a long time.

Summary:

Email Suite is a reasonable choice of 10 all-in-one tools just for $199 one time payment and no extra fee. Only of you wish to track your emails to see if a message was ever opened or any licks were clicked you will be charged $12 a month.

SMTP settings for Atomic Mail Sender

If you do not want to bother your ISP trying to send some emails through their system, then just sign up for a free email address, like Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail.

Be aware that free email service won't let you send more than 100~300 emails per day through SMTP server, but fell free to add multiple SMTPs to the server list, increasing your daily mail quota to 100~300*3

Below listed smtp settings for Atomic Mailer. I tested them and they are correct. I know that some day they will become outdated, so just let me know in comments or hopefully I will notice these changes myself.

Gmail:

1. Open settings - common settings - smtp tab - select External SMTP only and add smtp.gmail.com into the server list.
2. Click on smtp.gmail.com - set port as 587
3. Select ESMTP authentication, put in your login (full email address) and password for google mail then select TLS encryption. Note that gmail login is a full email address including @gmail.com
4. Put in your gmail email address in Sender email field.

Yahoo:

1. Open settings - common settings - smtp tab - select External SMTP only and add smtp.mail.yahoo.com into the server list.
2. Click on smtp.mail.yahoo.com - set port as 587
3. Select ESMTP authentication, put in your login and password for Yahoo mail then select TLS encryption. Note that yahoo login is a first part of email address without @yahoo.com
4. Open settings - common settings - mailer tab and set Thread count as 1.

Hotmail:

1. Open settings - common settings - smtp tab - select External SMTP only and add smtp.live.com into the server list.
2. Click on smtp.live.com - set port as 587
3. Select ESMTP authentication, put in your login and password for Hotmail mail then select TLS encryption. Note that hotmail login is a full email address including @hotmail.com
4. Open settings - common settings - mailer tab and set Thread count as 1.

How to pull out members' emails from forums.

I'd like to start giving some advices based on my own experience on how to develop your own mailing list. 99 percent accurate and targeted mailing list, so you won't spam people advertising stuff they do not want.

#1. Download email addresses from forums.

Not all of them. Forum members only. It takes pretty much less time and won't give you a bunch of garbage emails. Again, it will be only people who intentionally registered at forum which covers your market's field. For instance some real estate forum or digital photography forum.

As an example i will take a real one, only index URL is fake.

Once you open forum website, find and go to the members page, URL now looks like this:

http://forum-example.com/inb/index.php?s=&act=Members

Now, if you navigate to the second page (page #2) URL will change to this:

http://forum-example.com/inb/index.php?..&max_results=10&filter=ALL&sort_order=asc&sort_key=name&st=10

It has &st=10 at the end. That's the most important part. Third page will show up as

http://forum-example/inb/index.php?..&max_results=10&filter=ALL&sort_order=asc&sort_key=name&st=20

See changed number at the end? &st=20 ? Perfect. As you noticed it increases permanently adding 10.

Finally navigate to the last page, in this case it is page 408

Now you need some program which will extract email from this forum for you. I use Atomic email Hunter. Here is a free trial download link: Atomic Hunter(Extractor)

Once you have it installed go to Search - Search in list menu and click on Globe at the right side (link generator).

See how to change link pattern so it will match our example:

Start numerating from: 10

Links count: 407

Step value: 10

Numbers of digits: 2

Do not change Rearrange box pattern. Leave it as AEBDCCDBEA

Click on OK and make sure that Thread count is set to 2 and Scan where: Current site only.

How to set up Atomic Sender with ISP SMTP server.

Hope someone will find useful information below regarding setting up Atomic Sender with SMTP server of major ISPs in the U.S. and Canada. It will be constantly updated. Let me know if i missed something essential.

Verizon:

1. Open settings - common settings - smtp tab - select External SMTP only and add outgoing.verizon.net into the server list.

2. Click on outgoing.verizon.net - set port as 25(or 587)

3. Select ESMTP authentication, put in your login and password for Verizon mail. 4. Set thread count as 1 in settings - common settings - mailer tab.

Earthlink

1. Open settings - common settings - smtp tab - select External SMTP only and add smtp.earthlink.net into the server list.

2. Click on smtp.earthlink.net - set port as 587 (or 25)

3. Select ESMTP authentication, put in your login and password for Earthlink mail.

4. Set thread count as 1 in settings - common settings - mailer tab.

Cox

1. Locate Cox smtp server in your area at http://support.cox.com/sdccommon/asp/contentredirect.asp?sprt_cid=fcb44db0-3835-491c-bca8-2d56ac32a574

2. Open settings - common settings - smtp tab - select External SMTP only and add your cox smtp into the server list.

2. Click on cox smtp server - set port as 587 (or 25)

3. Select ESMTP authentication, put in your login and password for Cox mail.

4. Set thread count as 1 in settings - common settings - mailer tab.5. Put in your @cox email address intp Sender email field

Qwest

1. Locate qwest smtp server in your area at http://www.qwest.net/help/roaming.html

2. Open settings - common settings - smtp tab - select External SMTP only and add your Qwest smtp into the server list.

2. Click on Qwest smtp server - set port as 587 (or 25)

3. Select ESMTP authentication, put in your login and password for Qwest mail.

4. Set thread count as 1 in settings - common settings - mailer tab.5. Put in your @Qwest email address intp Sender email field

Road Runner

1. Locate RR smtp server in your area at http://www.realifewebdesigns.com/web-resources/pop3-smtp-timewarner.html

2. Open settings - common settings - smtp tab - select External SMTP only and add your road runner smtp into the server list.

2. Click on road runner smtp server - set port as 587 (or 25)

3. Select ESMTP authentication, put in your login and password for Road Runner mail.

4. Set thread count as 1 in settings - common settings - mailer tab.5. Put in your @rr email address intp Sender email field. The domain name will differ slightly. Your sign-up information or Road Runner customer service can provide you with the exact domain for your area.

Bellsouth

1. Open settings - common settings - smtp tab - select External SMTP only and add mail.bellsouth.net into the server list.

2. Click on mail.bellsouth.net - set port as 25

3. Select ESMTP authentication, put in your login and password for bellsouth mail.

Yahoo SBCGlobal

1. Open settings - common settings - smtp tab - select External SMTP only and add smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com into the server list.

2. Click on smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com - set port as 587 (or 25)

3. Select ESMTP authentication, put in your login and password for sbcglobal mail.

4. Set thread count as 1 in settings - common settings - mailer tab.

Three email sending programs review.

In this review (divided into several individual articles) I will try to examine three Email Sending programs:

Atomic Email Sender (Version 5.08 April, 2009) from AtomPark Software
Bulk Mailer Professional from Live Software or www.email-unlimited.com (Current version: 6.1 Release Date: 24.03.2009)
G-Lock EasyMail from G-Lock Software (Version: 6.50 Released: March 25, 2009)

Software above is Windows OS compatible. All 3 programs being examined as free trials.

My choice was based on top-10 Google search results by bulk email software query. Variety of sponsored links displayed makes me think that this market is quite popular among software development companies.

I will probably start in alphabetical order with Atomic Email Sender.

AtomPark Software offers about 10 different programs designed for email marketing. If money is not an issue and you feel kind of newbie to this business then try Atomic Email Studio which includes all 10 modules as a suite: Sender, Email Verifier, Email Hunter, Email Autoresponder, etc. But when only Email Sending tool is needed go into purchasing Atomic Sender only. Note that besides sending email out it has some other facilities as described below.

As you can see, 80% of the main screen occupies HTML editor. I noticed that you can send either text only (not as HTML formatted test, but specifically plain text message) or HTML based emails. Go to Format menu to switch between these options.

This nice looking html message was loaded from free templates which come with the program and can be edited according to your needs.

Now I will show you how to start using Atomic Sender providing step-by-step instructions.

At first this program needs proper smtp settings. SMTP is the outgoing mail server used together with program. Select sending method in How to send mail drop-down menu:

Directly – means that program will use so-called built-in smtp server. You have less chances to use it if your ISP blocks port 25 (like Comcast, Cox, Verizon and many others. Even if it is open, having residential IP address, most of your emails will end up in a junk folder. Here a good question arises: “What is it used for then?”. I feel that this option is of a great advantage when you install Atomic Sender on a server or use it together with Exchange server. However, this needs further testings.

Directly on errors use SMTP – If direct method fails too often (recipient’s SMTP replies will aborting command) Atomic Sender will try send failed email through your SMTP server.

Directly for some domains use SMTP. Use it when sending email to some specific domain constantly fails.

External SMTP – Here you can add smtp server of your Company or ISP or, for instance, Gmail smtp server. For example these are the settings you should use when setting up Gmail smtp:

1. At first you set it as External SMTP only and add smtp.gmail.com into the server list.
2. For smtp.gmail.com set port 587.
3. ESMTP authentication is used for almost all SMTPs including Gmail. Then put in your login (full gmail email address including @gmail.com) and password for Google mail.
4. Finally select TLS encryption. Enter your gmail address into Sender email box.

That’s it. You are almost set to send something out.

Be aware that free Gmail account lets you send 100-300 emails per day only.

So, once you composed your message, you should load a list of your recipients. Click on Send button. Let’s check what lists Atomic Sender is capable to handle.

On the right menu it says: Import mailing list. Ok. That’s easy..

- From file or database. I checked what formats appear to be available: .txt .csv .xls .doc .mdb

It is really nice and covers almost all wide spread file formats. But here comes the first tricky question. What if you had, say G-Lock EasyMail mailing list and then switched to Atomic Sender? Will it open .txt mailing list initially saved in G-Lock EasyMail program?

I’m going to test it. But a little bit later.

- From clipboard. Click on this once you have your emails copied in any other program.

- From Outlook Address book. Great feature, really helpful if you previously used Outlook to send your Newsletter. But note that it exports them all, some personal email can be transferred as well.

When done with importing emails, hit on Send mail button on top. See your list loaded into Send Mail Monitor and hit on Send. Boom! Now, if everything were set correctly you see list going down, emails marked as sent in green and maybe some in red, if email address is not reachable.

Sometimes it is important to keep reports of sent emails. Atomic Sender provides the following types of reports (After you click on Reports button under Send Mail Monitor):

- Successfully sent report provides you with a list of emails went through.

-Not sent yet (queued) shows email addresses of emails you yet have to resend. Seems one need it when you aborted or paused sending process.

- Not send (failed) gives you a list of email addresses program could not deliver.

- Failed SMTP connections report - same as Not send (failed) but with detailed technical report. Useful when you contact technical support or keep for personal review. Helps to understand why email was not sent.

Save report to:

MS Excel - transfers report to guess where?...Microsoft Excel! :)
Windows clipboard. Some people ask where then to find clipboard on computer? Don't do that. Once you select copy Windows clipboard paste report into any other program. Like MS Word or any other text editor.
Text file. I suppose that's clear.

Atomic Sender has one really outstanding feature. If it accidentally crashes or was closed somehow, next time when you turn it on you will see a pop-up window notifying that there was a crash and show you list of emails you should continue sending with.

So, at this point you finished sending emails and probably saved your report. What should you do next and what features does this program offer?
